Our Grounds Maintenance Team work to deliver services to estates across Barnet. The estates currently maintained by the Opendoor Homes Grounds Maintenance Team are listed below.
*If your estate is not included on this list, please still contact Opendoor Homes by either calling us on 020 8080 6586 or emailing customercare@opendoorhomes.org. Once the enquiry is received, Opendoor Homes will review it and determine if it should be referred to the London Borough of Barnet to deal with or remain with Opendoor Homes.

Tasks carried out by the Grounds Maintenance Team
The Opendoor Homes Grounds Maintenance Team deliver their services across different times of the year and are guided by seasonal factors. For example, we will only cut back hedges between November and mid-March as this is when the bird-nesting season is over.
*Please note that will we try our best to stick to the below schedule however, due to issues beyond our control e.g. weather conditions, staffing issues and sickness this may not always be possible. In these situations, please be assured that we will attend as soon as we are next able to.

Mid-March to end of October | Cutting the grass to a reasonable length (approximately between 20mm and 50mm)
Carry out any urgent minor tree works which may be required involving diseased or dying trees
Carry out weed spraying of hard surfaces in communal areas
Treat any identified Japanese Knotweed
Cut back shrubs and hedges
Upkeep of beds

The Grounds Maintenance Team are not responsible for the following tasks:
- Removing grass cuttings from estates – these will remain on the communal lawns
- Maintaining any non-communal areas that are the responsibility of residents
- Maintaining areas where Garden Clubs have prior agreements with Opendoor Homes (Garden Club members do this).
